Privacy policy
Last updated 5 October 2026.
Know That? is a science channel. This policy covers the Know That uploader, a private tool the channel's owner uses to publish the channel's own videos. The tool is not offered to anyone else.
What the uploader accesses
The uploader signs in to the Know That? YouTube account with Google OAuth. It uses the YouTube Data API to do these things on that channel only:
- upload videos and set their titles, descriptions, tags and settings
- set video thumbnails and upload subtitles
- create playlists and add videos to them
- read the channel's name, to confirm it is signed in to the right account
It does not read, collect or store data about viewers or any other YouTube user.
Where data is kept
The OAuth token is stored only on the owner's computer. The uploader keeps a local record of the IDs and links of the videos it has posted. Nothing is sent to any server other than Google's.
Sharing
No data obtained through Google APIs is sold, shared, or used for advertising. The uploader's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
YouTube and Google
The uploader uses YouTube API Services. By using YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Removing access
Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking it stops the uploader from posting.
